Litter Genie

I received the Litter Genie from the Litter Geniuses brand on Crowdtap to sample. I never knew how much I needed this in my life. I typically would just use grocery bags as the catch all and have to run them outside immediately to avoid the smells (or risk my pug, Brooks, breaking in and having a snack. YUCK!). And poo on you (literally) if you didn't notice a hole in the bag and left a poop trail from the litter box to the door. Insert LITTER GENIE! (Que majestic music). I was skeptical when I saw that the Litter Genie claims to control odors. Sure it could capture and hold poop and pee clumps (and withhold poop treats from Mr. Coprophagia himself), but could it REALLY stop that strong ammonia smell? Or the strong smell of "I just got to eat something awesome that I shouldn't have and Mom won't know til she smells this" poops? Well, let me tell you what. I've been using it for about a week now, and I really put it to the test because I didn't empty it the whole week. I wanted to know, FOR A FACT, that this Litter Genie could really work its smell-less magic. Drumroll please... THERE HAS BEEN NO GAG INDUCING, VOMIT PRODUCING SCENTS! Now that the most important factor is out of the way. How does the Litter Genie work? Well, you take a bag cartridge and pull about a foot of bag out, then tie a knot in the bottom. Open the lid and funnel, insert the cartridge and push the bag to the bottom of the pail. Close it up and TADA, done. Now all you have to do is open the top and use the included handy litter scoop. Put the waste in the top and when you are done, pull the funnel open and it drops down. Release the funnel and the smell and waste is locked inside. It claims that you won't have to empty it for 14 days! It states that if you have 1 cat the refill should last up to 2 months. You'll know when it needs replaced when you see a black line. To empty, open the Litter Genie at the middle, cut the bag using the built-in cutter. Pull more of the refill bag down tie another knot and you are ready to go again. I love the Litter Genie. I never thought I would need something like this in my life. It makes cleaning the litter box easy and fast. No more wrestling with grocery bags, attempting to not get waste all over the floor. And then there's the bonus of keeping the pug from having a fecal snack! I would definitely recommend the Litter Genie to ANYONE who has a cat. Cleaning the litter box is a nasty job, but it doesn't have to be so unpleasant! Make it easier with Litter Genie!
