Petunia Skincare 1.0mm Derma Roller

Needles. Scary, scary needles. I have a strong fear of these little pokey demons, which has kept me from ever thinking about trying a derma roller. I've always heard about them and seen infomercials and videos, and they seem to carry a lot of benefit, but seemed terribly frightening. Then came the day I had the opportunity to try one out for review. I decided it was time to curb my fear and give it a whirl. I dove in and snagged up Petunia Skincare's 1.0mm Derma Roller.
Petunia Skincare's 1.0mm derma roller contains 540 surgical stainless steel micro-needles. It is supposed to help with wrinkles, fine lines, blackheads, acne scars, enlarged pores, cellulite and stretch marks, all while tightening and firming skin. It comes packaged in a plastic case to keep it clear of dust and debris between uses, and upon first opening is packed in a sterilization package. The packaging was very encouraging, at least I knew for my first use it would be completely clean and safe. The first time I used the derma roller, I used it on my thigh in an area I have issues with cellulite. I didn't want to start on my face just in case I ran into any skin problems. It felt funny, but didn't hurt. I used light pressure and rolled multiple times in opposite directions. I immediately applied a cellulite gel afterwards. My skin felt a little strange, but nothing painful or irritating. I continued use for about a week and a half, every other day, always applying the cellulite gel afterward. I noticed some subtle difference in the cellulite, but not enough to say "oh wow". A couple more weeks of use, and still nothing dramatic. I'm satisfied with the small results, but not enough to say this is something I would actually purchase. It's an extra regimen that I don't feel I need, and doesn't really fit into my current routine. If you are someone looking for something extra to put into your routine and just need some subtle change or are determined to stick with a constant regimen, this might be just for you. *I received this product free for review.
